Off the Beaten Path: 'Hattitude!' Exhibit

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - New York Folklore has a new exhibit on display called “Hattitude! The Hats of Louise Hughes Rolling.” The exhibition honors the work and life of African-American milliner Louise Hughes Rolling with a display of more than forty hats from her collection.  Off the Beaten Path: Schuyler Bakery The exhibit, originally designed and curated by Traditional Arts of Upstate New York, will be on display through October 1, 2023. New York Folklore is located at 129 Jay Street in Schenectady. They are open Tuesday – Saturday from 10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Sunday.

LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - Missouri Governor Mike Parson will be in the St. Louis area for two ceremonial bill signings Tuesday, focusing on education and entertainment.Governor Parson will sign House Bill 2, the state education bill, Tuesday afternoon at Marquette High School. The bill details how funding for Missouri schools will be divided up for this fiscal year.Figures show the total education bill approaching $10.4 billion. That is an increase of more than $2.9 billion, or close to a 39% jump in education funding over last year's education bill. ST. LOUIS - 'Citizens for Modern Transit' wants you to get "back in the groove" as students head back to school.They're promoting a free one-month transit pass during October. They have 250 passes for those who register by September 15. MoDOT hosting meeting on I-70 expansion today in Warrenton, Missouri

WARRENTON, Mo. - MoDOT is having another meeting in a series of meetings on Tuesday on plans to improve Interstate 70.The first one was held last night at Wentzville City Hall. Lawmakers approved $2.8 billion to expand the interstate to three lanes from Wentzville to Blue Springs. LOUIS - St. Louis law enforcement, first responders, and military personnel will undergo counterterrorism training Tuesday and Wednesday.The 'Readiness Lab' is a private group that handles emergency response. They train for situations involving guns, chemical, and nuclear threats. The counterterrorism training will be conducted at the St. Charles Convention Center, Busch Stadium, and Top Golf.

CBD coffee shop in Platt Park targets fall opening

A new Platt Park coffee shop is going all in on CBD.Lindsey Sozio, owner of Lavender Coffee Boutique, is opening a one-stop-shop for CBD coffee, teas, and retail items at 1219 S. Pearl St. this fall.“CBD is a really interesting opportunity,” Sozio said. “It’s been around, it’s not an easy space to play in, and we don’t feel like anyone is doing it well enough.”Lavender Coffee Boutique isn’t the first Denver coffee shop to offer CBD.
